Oakleigh Cannons FC is pleased to announce it has signed experienced utility Matthew Foschini on a two-year contract.
The 28-year-old is a familiar face at Jack Edwards reserve and has experience playing for the club as a junior and in 2015.
Foschini has over 50 games of A-League experience to his name with Melbourne Victory and also has an NPL championship on his CV.
He can play as a defensive-midfielder or in the backline. He added he was happy to be back at the club.
“Oakleigh Cannons FC is a very homely environment, I’ve been there when I was young and also in my mid 20s as well,” Foschini said.
“There are a lot of familiar faces around the club and it was really good to see them yesterday to say g’day and catch up with them.
“A lot of the older fans know my dad and my family, so it’s a good environment to be in to be honest.”
Foschini also said he was keen to achieve big things with Oakleigh Cannons FC.
“The club deserves silverware and some success, hopefully we can deliver that later in the year and maybe go on a magic cup run to top it all off,” he said.
“We have to put in the hard work in the preseason first and foremost and not get carried away with ourselves.
“There a lot of good teams in this league all vying for the same thing, so we need to make sure we’re at our best and we put in our hard work during the preseason and that we take that into the year.”
